LADY J FAMILY SUPPORT AND DAY CARE CENTRE - AKKO

In March 2001 we officially dedicated the “Lady J Family Support and day Care Centre” in Akko. The much needed facility is a haven for the children who come from the most financially and socially deprived areas of Israel. For these children and their parents, vital counselling and therapeutic support will help them cope with their daily lives and the hardships they may face. This centre is the last resource provided to families before children may be taken from them and placed into care.

“MULTI-PURPOSE” CENTRES

Two of our Day care Centres qualify as ‘Multi-Purpose’ Centres. This means that in additional to the first class day care provision there is an additional provision to support families. There will be a social worker attached to the centre who will work with “at risk” children and their parents. Practical parenting skills are taught and counselling is available.

British Emunah supports three residential homes, providing shelter for boys and girls from infancy to 18 years old, because their parents lack the capability to raise them.

What does Emunah do?

Emunah in Israel supports over 10,000 children on a daily basis by providing residential homes, high schools, day care and family support centres as well as trauma therapy and counselling centres. Emunah is one of the primary social welfare organisations in Israel and in 2008 was awarded the prestigious ‘Israel Prize’ for lifetime achievement and exceptional contribution to the nation.

Emunah Neve Landy Children's Village is a residential home to 75 at risk boys aged 6-18. The number of children cared for at the village has grown enormously over the last twenty years since it opened, and now a new enlarged kitchen is vital to provide the nutritious and delicious meals that the growing boys need every single day! Help us raise the funds to build this kitchen!
