Family Support Centres
Supporting a child often means supporting the whole family.
Emunah’s family support services work with children and parents facing difficult or unstable circumstances, providing practical help, professional guidance and therapeutic support before problems reach crisis point.
At Emunah’s Multi-Purpose Day Care Centres, early years care is combined with the support of social workers and other professionals.
Parents can receive counselling, parenting support and practical guidance, while children benefit from a safe, nurturing environment and additional therapeutic intervention where needed.
The aim is to strengthen families, address difficulties as early as possible and, wherever it is safe and appropriate, help children remain within their family home.
Our Centres
Lady J Family Support and Day Care Centre
The Lady J Family Support and Day Care Centre in Akko provides far more than conventional childcare. The multipurpose centre supports children and families facing significant social and financial difficulties, combining day care with counselling, therapeutic intervention and practical family support.
A social worker and other professionals work closely with parents and children, helping families address difficulties early and, wherever it is safe to do so, remain together.
The centre opened in 2001 and was completed with substantial support raised by British Emunah donors. It was created as a tribute to Lady Amelie Jakobovits, British Emunah’s Life President and a passionate supporter of families and children.
Devorah and Joseph Wineman Multipurpose Day Care Centre
Located in a particularly disadvantaged neighbourhood of Be’er Sheva, the Devorah and Joseph Wineman Multipurpose Day Care Centre combines early years care with intensive support for vulnerable children and families.
A dedicated social worker works with children and parents, offering guidance, practical support and therapeutic intervention alongside the care provided during the day. The aim is to strengthen family life and give children a stable, nurturing environment in which they can grow.
The centre carries the names of Devorah and Joseph Wineman. Devorah Wineman was deeply involved with Emunah and made support for children in Israel an important part of her charitable life, creating a lasting British connection with Emunah’s work in Be’er Sheva.
Bertha Grodzinski Multipurpose Day Care Centre
The Bertha Grodzinski Multipurpose Day Care Centre combines professional early years care with enhanced support for vulnerable children and their families.
A social worker works alongside the centre’s staff, supporting parents and children who are experiencing difficult circumstances. Counselling, practical guidance and therapeutic intervention can be introduced where required, allowing the centre to work with the whole family rather than focusing only on the child.
The Kiryat Gat centre has formed part of British Emunah’s supported project portfolio for many years, with British funding contributing to its ongoing care and family support work.
