Residential Care Centres

The Sarah Herzog Children’s Centre in Afula has one of the deepest connections with British Emunah. The first major British Emunah fundraising project, its original Beit Rothschild building opened in 1949 and the campus has developed over generations of British support.

Today Afula provides residential care and an intensive afternoon programme for vulnerable children and teenagers. Children receive a stable home environment, education, therapy, nutritious meals, enrichment and individual support. The afternoon programme enables children who remain at home to receive substantial daily support while Emunah works with their wider families.

The campus itself tells part of British Emunah’s history, with buildings including Beit Rothschild, Beit Sally Ann Dix, Beit Ruth and the Doris and Bertie Black Therapy Centre. British Emunah continues to invest in the site, including major refurbishment and therapeutic programmes.

Neve Landy Children’s Village provides specialist residential care for boys aged 6–18 with particularly complex emotional, behavioural and educational needs. Many have experienced significant trauma and require intensive therapeutic intervention.

Each boy receives an individual programme combining education, counselling, therapy and enrichment. The village also includes provision for older boys who are preparing for greater independence and adult life.

Neve Landy was built by British Emunah and opened in 2003 in response to a request for specialist residential provision in southern Israel. It was described at the time as British Emunah’s largest project and remains closely associated with the Landy family and the legacy of British Emunah Founder President Gertrude Landy.

Beit Esther is a residential building within the wider Emunah Bet Saba Elazraki Children’s Home in Netanya. It provides a safe and supportive home for older girls who are unable to return to their families, offering stability, emotional support and guidance during an important stage in their development.

Young women are encouraged to continue their education and develop the confidence and practical independence they need for adult life, supported by strong relationships with staff and peers.

Beit Esther has historically appeared within British Emunah’s project portfolio, and British Emunah has supported work at the wider Bet Saba Elazraki home. It is important to note that Beit Esther is part of the larger children’s home rather than a separate standalone Emunah institution.
