An opportunity has arisen for a fundraiser to drive and coordinate efforts to raise funds in the UK for our essential work in Israel.  This is a part time, flexible role of 24 hours per week.  

Job Description

  • Overall responsibility of major donor fundraising including cultivating, managing and developing donor relationships.
  • Developing and managing fundraising strategy in conjunction with the Executive and Trustees including setting and monitoring of fundraising targets.
  • Proactively researching and approaching new donors; preparing fundraising proposals and undertaking regular donor visits.
  • Creating new community-based fundraising groups, utilising existing networks.
  • Identifying appropriate grant making organisations relevant to the work of Emunah as well as setting up Wills/Legacy giving opportunities.
  • Working alongside Events manager on planning and implementation of existing and new fundraising events.
  • Ensuring appropriate administrative and IT systems are in place to facilitate effective fundraising.
  • Involvement with ongoing fundraising initiatives including online supper quiz, bar and bat mitzvah twinning, simcha celebratory programme and share your simcha scheme.

Personal Specification

  • Proven track record of fundraising and meeting fundraising targets including some major donor fundraising.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and a wide network of contacts within the community.
  • Understanding of fundraising strategy and the ability to analyse information and develop appropriate fundraising channels.
  • Ability to budget forecast, interpret and act appropriately on financial information.
  • Event and campaign management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to cultivate new contacts and build relationships.
  • High level of computer and database management skills ideally with experience of managing a donor database.
  • Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Experience with working with volunteers and motivating a team.
  • Strong writing, research and time management skills.
  • Willingness to "pitch in" during periods of high activity.
