Children’s charity Emunah will benefit from funds raised when Justin Dewinter from Hendon joined 25,000 cyclists for the 100-mile Prudential London Ride on Sunday 30 July, 2017. He reached the finish line in 6 hours 44 minutes while enjoying the scenery on the London to Surrey Ride.

“I wanted to cycle for Emunah because it is a cause that is close to my heart,” said Justin Dewinter, an accountant and company director.

“I have taken part in triathlons but this was the longest bike ride that I’ve ever done. I was fine for the first 50 miles but the last half was more challenging. The atmosphere was fantastic and the event was very well organised.”

The race set off from London’s Olympic Park and finished in The Mall.

He was met by his wife, Sharon, who is co-vice chairman of British Emunah and the pair have hosted children from the Emunah Afula home when they visited London. British Emunah supports 37 welfare projects in Israel.

Mr Dewinter continued: “We are raising funds for a new dormitory at Emunah Afula. When you begin to understand why these children are in Emunah’s care… It is a great motivator to want to help – to make their lives better.”
